Naperville Township is located in the Southwest corner of DuPage County, approximately 35 miles west of Chicago. The Township is a 36 square mile area bordered by Kane (Kautz Rd.) and Will (87th St.) Counties to the west and south and by Winfield (Townline Rd.) and Lisle (Washington/Modaff) Townships to the north and east respectively. The Township encompasses parts of the cities of Naperville, Aurora, and Warrenville, and the town of Eola. For the survey to find the best places to live, Money Magazine compiled a 271-city list. This was then sorted by population and divided into three geographic regions: east, central and west. The list was then narrowed down by identifying those towns with demographics that closely mirrored that of the typical Money reader: college educated, working professional, well-above average median income. In addition, the town had to be located no more than 60 miles from a major city to ensure reasonable access to art and culture resources. Only cities with median incomes above $50,000 a year and unemployment rates below the national average were included in the search.
Naperville came out on the top of this list. Naperville real estate has a strong homeowners association culture. More than 150 individual homeowner associations serve residents in subdivisions and neighborhoods throughout the city. Associations maintain common facilities and administer special neighborhood events.
