Sherman Plaza

Evanston situated on the shores of the Lake Michigan was founded after the creation of Northwestern University in the year1857. Sherman Plaza is the latest mixed-use development rising in the heart of the downtown Evanston, a close-in suburb in Chicago. This latest development is situated near the Davis Street train station, which is the junction point of two commuter rail lines. In the city’s history this $190 million project is the most expensive project along the downtown.

The 25-story condominium tower is L-shaped with 153,000 square feet of retail space. The plaza will also consist 12-story, 1,585-space public parking garage. The project is expected to be completed by next may with most of the condos already been sold out. The buyers include both the suburbanites as well as young professionals. A 770-square foot loft costs $224,000 while a 4,000-square foot penthouse with three terraces cost around $1.8million. The commercial space is also well done keeping in mind the type of customers, who are mainly students and use the stores to more as a library.
