Affordable Condos For Seniors

Affordable housing that of late has become an oxymoron is becoming well matched, with the development of many new projects targeted at the people above the age of 55. Irving Park Road, Belle Plaine, and Oakley Avenue bound the 5-acre North Center Senior Campus, Chicago. The complex will have a condominium building and two rental buildings. Most of the units in the rental building are targeted at the seniors with low and moderate income while the condominium will have units for a mix of income. The Martha Washington Apartment is also completed and the rents for the one and two bedroom apartment range from $185 to $914. The least expensive apartments are meant for those with very low income. The federal governments section 202 provides funds for projects that construct affordable rental building for seniors. St Vincent DePaul Residence is the building funded under section 202 and developed by Catholic Charities Housing Development Corp.
