Waukegan condo project gets approval
The Waukegan condo project on Sheridan Road finally won the City Council's approval and is all set to take off. In the first phase 68 condo units will be built and the prices of the homes will range from $175,000 to $500,000 depending on the size of the condo unit.
A total of 247 units on the 3.34-acre site are planned. The plan is to have ground-level retail space, two floors of office space and parking garages on the completed site. But right now the focus is getting the first phase completed.
The project was stalled due to several objections pertaining to the sale of the land and obligations of the city towards the project. Provisions have been added to the agreement to protect the city in case the project does not come through. But this is just a precautionary measure as the developers have obtained sound financial backing and going to work in a tight time frame to complete the condo project on time.
