Chicago condominiums could be part of a plan to repurpose the Wrigley Building on Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago.
The Chicago Tribune announced yesterday that Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co. is considering its real estate needs, and may be pulling its headquarters out of the historic building. The building is named for Wrigley's father, and the idea of the company leaving is a huge shock for Chicago residents.
A real estate firm is currently conducting a study about what the best use of the Wrigley building might be. The idea of luxury Chicago condominiums is seen as a remote possibility, but it is still getting some architectural enthusiasts a bit hot under the collar.
Chicago condominium conversions are a hot trend. The much-hyped Trump Tower, for example, is going up just next door to the Wrigley building, and is helping create demand for Chicago condominiums. The Palmolive Building, which was once the headquarters for Playboy, has already been completed converted into Chicago condominiums.
